The Burj Khalifa is the tallest man-made structure in the world, even if it could soon be supplanted by others that are currently under construction. Until then, however, it shall remain as the king of all skyscrapers and height aside, it’s a beauty to behold.
Measuring 829.9 high, the skyscraper of Dubai has broken many height-related world records. Though, its height pales in comparison to how important the tower is to Dubai’s message to the rest of the world. In fact, Dubai hopes that the project helps in promoting the UAE by attracting a wider international audience.
If you’re wondering where the tower got its name, it’s named after the UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This is only fitting as he was the one who helped Dubai fund the project despite the global financial crisis that happened during the time of its construction.
